Mammoth Deviator Fuzz (modified MXR Blue Box) - Here's the schematic!

I fell down an octave fuzz rabbit hole last night and re-discovered this schematic from the now-defunct Mammoth Electronics. It shouldn't take much effort to modify a PedalPCB Mantle Fuzz to Mammoth spec if one were so inclined. (Special thanks to the writer of this blog for teasing it out of them so many years ago.)

It looks like the main differences (apart from IC and transistors) are a toggle to break connection between C9 and ground (Bright Boost) and a toggle to connect R20 to pin 1 or pin 3 of the CD4013 (-1 or -2 Octave). There's also a LPF after the Blend knob for the "Octave Tone".

Enjoy! (y)

That is some watermark.

The octave switch is a very useful addition. I haven’t tried the others yet.
I’ve actually never played a stock Blue Box, but I won an early Deviator kit in a contest they ran! I’m going to add a few Mantles to my next PPCB order so I can have it both ways.

Would you say, it’s a “mammoth”-sized watermark?…
