Mister Fuzz (Maestro FZ-1 Fuzz Tone)

Hello,

My Maestro FZ-1 build is getting a high pitched whine when engaged.
I swapped through a handful of different transistors and nothing seems to stop it.

Any pointers or options?

Thanks in advance.

Could be oscillation due to wiring or grounding. Make sure your grounds are all good and secure and check if you have any wires, particularly input and output wires too close. Also if it has a voltage inverter IC make sure you have an IC that operates outside the audio range.

Futzed around with it today but still nothing. Might just be the transistors I have. I don't have very good luck with Ge circuits!
The attack knob kinda swells in and out at lower settings too.

Is your IC the TC1044S? if you remove all the transistors except the one on the right (above the 3n3 cap and 10k resistor), do you still get the noise?
