Mister Fuzz / voltage inverter bypass

Today I tried to built Mister Fuzz with no inverter but use 1.5v x2 batteries.
(I connected battery wire to IC100's pin 5)

It sound, but I doubt something wrong.
Q2 collector bias does not change much if I turn attack knob. 3 - 2.8v.

Are there any additional things I should do to calibrate this ?

Sorry what’s an inverter? Can you post pictures of the board? Also 3V may not be enough to properly bias the transistor so it would sound really spitty and weird. You may like it, but probably not what it was designed for.
