Mod BYOC Mouse to standard RAT

Dear folks, I made myself a BYOC Mouse a couple of years ago but I like my standard RAT a bit more, so I want to get rid of the Ruetz mod and the presence knob. Can someone help me a bit with what I have to do exactly please?

This is the link to the manual of the BYOC Mouse: https://moodysounds.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/mouseinstructions.pdf

Do I only have to unsolder the presence potmeter? On the schematic of BYOC mouse you can see a 0R after the presence potmeter. But I think on my PCB there is the 47R resistor. Or am I wrong?

Looking at the PPCB schematic the 0ohm resistor and Presence pot replace the 47R resistor to the 2µ2 cap. So disconnect the pot and jumper (0ohm resistor) and solder a 47R resistor between the positive side of the 2µ2 cap and pin 2 of the IC. You could connect it at the Distortion pot's lug 2 or 3. Pretty simple.

thanks! in my version the 0R is not there (there is a difference between the schematic and the PCB), it is a 47r on my pedal. So with the potmeter on zero, the BYOC Mouse is very close to the original rat isn't it?

while your in there it also appears your pots are not insulated and could cause a short to the pcb.. or maybe they are and I cant tell..

If you turn the ruetz knob fully CCW, it should be pretty much a stock rat sound.
Yes indeed, after thinking about it, with the presence knob at max (measured it with my multimeter) the resistance of the pot is zero and the mouse should sound as a stock rat. As soon as you start to turn the knob back, even just a tiny bit, there is a big change in sound, that bite in the uppermids goes away and a somewhat nasal, whining tone also disappears. I think in band context i still prefer stock, but the mod is quite interesting after all. Thanks for the input!

Andeuh, yes indeed, some isolation tape over the back of the potmeters would do no harm!

School me: what is the correct slang here: pot, potmeter, potentiometer? 🤪

Pot, but we should change it to potmeter.
