Due to budget cuts, winter has been let go.
Fall will now be working winter's shift and summer will work a double shift covering fall's shift.
On occasional years, summer may work a swing shift or triple.

Spring was laid-off as well. On June 1st it went from 8 months of too cold and wet to hot hot hot. We had five days off, and now hot, hot and hotter are here.

Back in the 80s, I read a hilarious story in the SF Chronicle about a traditional Chinatown restaurant that mistakenly ordered fortune cookies from a local ribald supplier that put lewd messages inside... I think the owner did not speak or read English very well, so you can imagine the situation with his customers having to explain it to him. It was kind of a real-life variant of Monty Python's Hungarian foreign travel dictionary skit. Definitely very funny - although the restaurant owner didn't think so.
