More optional buffer setups like the adhd

I really like the new adhd bypass boards with the true bypass option. And would like to see this set up incorporated in future projects.

Positives for me:

It’s 100% optional.

Switchable if you want true bypass or buffered.

Wouldn’t have to be that circuit (something without the 57’s would be nice).

Wiring is so clean! Use some headers it’s brilliant

If you don’t use the optional board. You still get the advantage of not having to run your jack wires all the way down to the switch.

Anyways more of a thought for the future rather than a specific project.

Example of one in the wild.

Couldn't agree more. That board makes for a great build experience, and it adds so much to the versatility of the pedal. But there are other options, even if they aren't quite as tidy...

I guess a big part of what I would like is the ins and outs at the top of the board as well. I mean really just makes an easy add on sale to have it be an option. Some larger boards it obviously wouldn’t work.

That simple jfet buffer was a great addition to zip tie into my wah pedal. I can now use it before a fuzz with no issues, and when I bypass the wah it’s out of circuit.

Yeah, I've often wondered about that. I've hooked them up on the bypass circuit, but you have to tap into the +/- power from the jack, and you have to add a power filtering capacitor and polarity protection diode.

EDIT: Wait, I think I read that wrong. So, can you use the way and the fuzz at the same time? The fuzz doesn't go bonkers?

Correct. It keeps the impedance that the fuzz sees in a happy place (believe it was one of the OG in the community like Jack Orman or RG Keen about 20 yrs or so ago)

I tapped my power right off of the wah board after its onboard filtering

Nice. I've never even thought to try it in front of a fuzz One of my band mates always complained about his Big Muff, and I kept telling him to put it at the beginning of his chain, but he always wanted his wah as the first pedal in his signal path. He eventually just got rid of the big muff because he thought it was garbage, and I couldn't' convince him it was because the big muff wanted to see his pickups and not the buffered wah.

Yea, wahs and fuzzes like to interact with each other (again, I defer to the OG in the DIY community as they explain it better than I ever could). But long and short, a buffer between wah and fuzz usually fixes it.
And the reason I have my buffer bypass when the wah bypasses is because I want to keep the ability to ride the volume knob when wah is off. If the buffer was always on, I’d lose that even when wah is off
