Muffin Factory Pin Headers

I've used the ones Tayda carries (which according to the datasheet appears to be 6mm), but they were cutting it awfully close. Another mm or two wouldn't hurt.

Install/solder the shorter end of the pins into the dip module then dry-fit it into the main PCB. This way you can adjust the height once it's in the enclosure before soldering them into place.

Make sure you insulate the pins (or enclosure) so they don't touch the bare aluminum.

Thank you for the info. And this will be my first time using pin headers, so I appreciate the procedural advice!

...Do you recommend socketing them on the main board?

I didn't. I really didn't want them to be able to move once they were in place.

Also there might not be enough clearance between the PCB and enclosure for a socket.
