.....no not anything I've caught recently heh. I haven't been on the water all year.

I have a Minnow board that's been sitting in my stash. I'm considering building it out if it does what I want it to.

I don't care so much about the envelope filter as I already have the CDXL Reissue and I like it a lot for what I use it for.

What interests me more is the sample and hold feature. For the folks that have built this, can you play a note, hit the "hold" and it will sustain the note while you play over it?

If YES then has anyone come up with a way to put the Sample/Hold feature on the foot switch? Seems like a no brainer to me to have it on a stomp.

Thanks in advance! @DGWVI :)

If it's anything like the sample and hold on an analog synth, what it's sampling is the control voltage that determines how open the filter is. The holding part is how long it stays at the voltage it sampled. Almost like a random step sequencer for the filter portion

It is indeed! In fact, the Maestro FSH-1 that the Minnow is based on, was designed Tom Oberheim before he started his synth company.

And achieved eventual Jump-related glory ;)

Yah? The env filter section looks a lot like the reissue 440. Both are LM13700 driven?
It’s a different animal, with very different controls. I find it much more expressive than the 440. Like the difference between a Rat and a DS-1…

There was a group buy on the Deeptronic cold-storage unit, a bunch of us got together and coerced CWSquared [kindly volunteered] into running the group buy because he did such a great job with the VFE Group Buy.

[EDIT]DOH missed Robert's AND jcpst's posts.[EDIT]

Commercially...
I don't think the Freeze has a lot of bells & whistles, it's bare bones. The bells and whistles are on the SuperEgos — I have the EHX SuperEgo, and now EHX has the SuperEgo+ , too.

ZCat Pedals used to do a reverb/freeze pedal (not sure if they still do).

A few others, some have already been mentioned, but...

Only DIY audio-popsicle machine I know of is the Deeptronic.

Well the TC Elec "Infinity" (with all the bells and whistles) is actually less expensive by a few bucks than the EXH. I've been watching the demo videos of the TC and it's looking pretty interesting now. Even though there's definitely been some scope creep to the original mission of nailing the sound I was hearing in my head that I wanted the sample/hold/sustain for.

But that means.....I ......have......to........BUY (ugh)......a....pedal. That might be more egregious than "buying" a Strat or Tele.....
