New Addition 🎸

Village Idiot
This came a few weeks back. I bought it off sone dude on Reverb... :ROFLMAO: You may have seen this guitar in one of his threads.
I was curious about both Nash & swamp ash and Michael was gracious with the price ;)

It is really light compared as compared to the '61 cs. It plays well with a low action. I'm still on the fence over the swamp ash, but plan to give it time. (y)

That looks gorgeous! IMO a Tele should be swamp ash. I prefer steel saddles but that's ok. I'm broad-minded. If it gets too light it might lack some punch but in general light is good.

Oh man, swamp ash is badass. Warm tones, sustain and heavy. I have a couple of swamp ash guitfiddles.

This is part of my slow but sure replacing all retail guitars with my own. I may need some lessons from @Pauleo1214 at some point hahaha.

Honestly, this Nash was special, it's a pretty light guitar and very resonant. I was reluctant to let it go but I'm so glad it stayed in the "family" so to speak, to another obsessed guitar nerd hahahahah.

I hope you don't mind @fig but we had a new addition arrive too, it got here about 5 mins ago.

Thomas has been 'playing' my strat for ages but it's just too big for him so he asked for one of his own that was "Thomas sized". I showed him some pics, we did some @MichaelW approved virtual guitar grubbing and he picked this one out by himself.

Can't wait to see his face on Christmas morning

Most of my guitars are my own but there ain't nothing wrong with restoring commercial guitars too! I got a 1991 PRS EG4, always wanted one but it saw better days.

So I refretted, refinished it, cut a new pickguard, and had the bridge re'plated. I also put in new pickups.

I didn't take photos of the hunter in thr before state so here is a ebay listing photo. Body is blue, plenty of nicks and dings. Frets were wore down to nothing and years of palm sweat wore off the chrome on the trem. The pickguard was yellow and cracked.

@Pauleo1214 I have yet to do a set neck guitar. The finishing scares the crap out of me heh.
Set necks can be tricky to get the finish even around the joint. Lucky for me this PRS is a bolt on; interestingly enough, the EG line was PRS first bolt on neck model and first attempt at a USA- made budget model before the CE guitars were introduced.

Full disclosure: I'm not a PRS fanboy by any means. I have a soft spot for guitars offered by manufacturers that did not do well. Gibson has loads from the Norlin era including the Maurader, Corvus, Sonex, MVX, etc.

Love the EGs and the colour you chose is excellent.
