SOLVED!!!
Figured it out myself. I feel so dumb right now.
THE CORRECT PROCEDURE IS TO CHECK THE "SOURCE FILE" BOX, NOT THE "INTEL HEX" IN THE SpinASM.

HI, I am not an IT expert, so please understand me.

I am building my 2nd FV-1 pedal project, and my first was months ago. I downloaded the new SpinCAD and made my new patch. Save it for SpinASM and generate HEX file. I'm not really sure how hex file looks, but the software says Hex file.

Like my first project, I used my Arduino uno to upload my codes to EEPROM using Arduino UNO, but it failed, I tried it many times but with the same result ...

"invalid digit "8" in octal constant"

And then I noticed that the "hex file" the software is making looks different. So I tried downloading FV-1 patch files from the internet and make HEX file from it using SpinASM, the HEX file looks like the old code.

Is this because of the new SpinCAD version? How can I convert the new "hex code" to the old one? Do I need to use the old version of SpinCAD?

Coupla questions first, if you please . . .

1) What version of SpinCAD are you using?
2) What platform are you working in? (PC, Mac, Linux???)
3) Are you using the SpinASM IDE?

For reference, I don't think I've ever changed anything about "Generate Hex". It was part of the functionality I inherited from Andrew Kilpatrick. Also, don't worry about asking questions which you subsequently figure out. This is one of the best ways to debug things. If there is no risk of public humiliation, you'll never figure it out. ;)
