I’m curious to hear your thoughts! I’ve been looking at a 214 as well. Never owned a decent acoustic but wife wants to get one for my birthday.
Years ago I bought a GS Mini for my son and it's an amazingly great sounding guitar. It confirmed to me that I love shorter scale guitars. More recently I tried a GT in urban ash and it impressed me too. Previously I hadn't liked Taylor guitars but they are doing some cool stuff these days. I'm over that jingle jangle Martin thing! The Martin I liked the most (and I have played a LOT of them) was the O-16NY, with the shorter scale and wide 12-fret neck. But I still wonder about those Taylor GTs. Play yours in rudely good health!

I saw that sale but I have a Rickenbacker 620 on reserve and the description just changed from "on order" to "in just a few weeks". Woo Hoo!
I have a Martin D28e and a Gibson J185ec, but I still need a Taylor to round out my collection.

They're fantastic guitars. I used to own one and really miss it. It's the little details that make it a cut above most of the other guitars I tried when I bought it. The neck is especially nice IMO

Well, with any luck, I've contacted my rep and ask to cancel the 214ce Deluxe and move me up to the 314ce

I've played some nice Taylors, but the Baby Taylor I had... one of the worst guitars I've had.

The black binding instead of white looks classier as does the nicer rosette. Oh, and inlays too!

The 300 series is all solid rather than laminate back and sides isn't it?
