Nine ball OD

Assembled and boxed the Nine Ball yesterday. It honestly sounds great but, in at least my build, with volume all the way up and gain halfway, it’s just a smidge below unity. Is this inherent to the circuit or did I likely do something wrong

Ha. After adding the clipper switch, I like the default the best. Wish there was a little more volume. The diodes in series and the red led didn't do it for me tone wize (and I usually like led clippers). Definitely, there was more volume. Probably a booster after the pedal is the trick.

I personally like the stock sound best. Could be a tad more output but it's still very usable. I was going to add the 3PDT output boost thingy but decided to save it for something more worthy. But, FWIW, I would buy another one if @Robert updated the board for trimpot or optional output resistor changes.

For those that have modified this with LEDs, what have you found lacking? There is definitely a difference in response I can’t put my finger on but, quite honestly, I think it sounds great and rests well in my band mix. Admittedly my ears are not as discerning as others!

FWIW, I test all pedals as well as gig with a Friedman SB50 combo.

Follow up. There's nothing I'd change except more output. It can get a tad noisy at upper levels but then so did the amp I guess. It's been fun to fart around with. Next up is the 800... Against my better judgement I got one of those little knob setter thingies and it fun to have all the knobs at exactly the same position and at exactly the same height, so there's that.
