I saw a performance of the Black Angels quartet back in college. Pretty nuts. String quartet with all kinds of "extended techniques" bowing of crystal glasses, bowing on gongs, etc.

I can't believe it took me more than 40 years to find Roy Buchanan. He's not much of a pedal guy, but a great lesson in the ways of cranking your amp and using the guitar volume for everything.

I think I once knew that Berman had a non-SJ album, but I had forgotten about it until you reminded me.

It released only a month or two before he killed himself. I remember that because I pre-ordered it and after I listened to it the first time my wife asked me what I thought about it and I told her that it sounded like a suicide note. Didn't feel good about that one.

I just bought a 2020 Civic Si which came with a 3 month subscription to Sirius. The Alt-Nation channel has some interesting songs I would never hear on the regular FM rock radio channels.

I think most of the music from that era has held up well. Nothing super flashy just solid songwriting, raw passion and performances. I miss that. Bands today lack all of it.

I love Spacehog, they have had some great stuff. The later albums are great as well.

Whoa, I saw this band at a music fest in like 1996. I ended up buying their t shirt as they were one of the better acts that day and i had never heard of them. I stopped wearing it because I got tired of explaining that it wasn't a Muppet reference.
