Fun fact: Davey Faragher, the original bass player for Cracker, now plays with Elvis Costello as an Imposter.
The bass line throughout this song is one of my favorite.

I was an STP nut in jr. high and high school in the 90's, but I gravitated to their first three albums (Core, Purple, and Tiny Music...) and never really listened beyond that.I never listened to Stone Temple Pilots when they were active. I thought myself too indie, and so they were too mainstream (LOL what a music snob I used to be).
Now I like them. And I especially appreciate some of the unusual chords their guitarist used. I don't know their deep tracks though, just their greatest hits (full reversal about being snobbish).
Yeah, Purple is a 90's masterpiece. It's too bad the Weiland wasn't able to get himself together - they really had something special going before he went off the deep end. They were fantastic songwriters. Core is amazing and tiny music showed the evolution of their sound and growth as musicians but Purple is a fucking Monster from start to finish. All killer, no filler. Silver gun Superman still blows my mind. After they got back together and released no. 4 they list their mojo as Wieland couldn't stay off the drugs and keep his shit together
That’s how I felt, too, but Vintage Trouble brought back some hope for the future of music, songwriting & showmanship — at least for me.I think most of the music from that era has held up well. Nothing super flashy just solid songwriting, raw passion and performances. I miss that. Bands today lack all of it.

Don’t love the tone, but it would be cool to play close to this level or to be able to do those pedal steel style bends.
