Albert Hammond is the reason I got my guitar can’t say how much I love this one of my faves.
Great stuff!Listening to a lot of Henry Mancini at the moment, trying to dig past the usual stuff such as Pink Panther, Nadia's Theme, Magnificent Seven etc (all good stuff still), and I've just discovered this:
Exceptional !
That was playing on the TV when I walked by the other day. The Duke takes on Africa. Henry Mancini and his contemporaries are some of the most brilliant composers to populate a staff. Walter Greene carried the torch through the cartoon series and retained the "swank" for the Pink Panther.Listening to a lot of Henry Mancini at the moment, trying to dig past the usual stuff such as Pink Panther, Nadia's Theme, Magnificent Seven etc (all good stuff still), and I've just discovered this:

This song sounds like it's making fun of me for liking music...and just to prove I'm not all classic rock all the time, my favourite newish band, Wet Leg:
We almost got away with it, too, if it weren't for those figlesome teenagers!...
Edit: Neither of us gave note to Moon River, which is considered sacrilege in some parts of the galaxy.![]()
Listening to this this morning. It’s a great live! Very old school St Vincent which I love. I mean I love her new stuff too but mostly because her live shows are amazing.I unconditionally love this live set
Yeah, I love the old school annie. Such a different vibe altogether. That said I think I like her newest material just as much— Daddy’s Home is the first noteworthy album in who knows how long to prominently feature Electric Sitar, which is always a win in my book, and the title track for Nowhere Inn shows a fantastic blend of her older and newer styles, and is certainly a musical direction I hope she explores further next!Listening to this this morning. I'm still bummed I didn't see them on the pink anniversary tourI saw Boris the other night. It was pretty good. FedEx messed up a shipment, and they hardly any merch. I wanted to get a copy of Akuma No Uta…I’ve been searching for it for a long time. No record at the show. I tried to get someone at the show last night in NYC to pick up the record and mail it to me, but I think I got scammed. Anywho, this is my favorite tune on the album, which, along with all my other favorite Boris albums, I have been listening to all day…
