Chonk was giving bleps, and this Yello track came on in the background, and fit perfectly... So watched it like 40 times in a row
I was listening to some old Yello and some newerish Yello just recently. Cool for cats.

Every morning I have an opportunity to watch cartoons with my daughter for a little while before I have to go to work and it's one of my favorite things to do. One of the cartoons she likes (and to be honest that I really appreciate even as an adult) is Peep and the Big Wide World.
It's a good hearted little cartoon and I get the theme song stuck in my head pretty often (it was in my head when I woke up this morning). Usually I'm not a fan of the kids songs I get stuck in my head but this one was done by Taj Mahal and I think is actually a pretty good little 30 second song.

Happened to be the last song I listened to on the way to classes this morning. Around 20 minutes before my class ended, the news broke, and it only felt fitting that I listen to it again.

WOW! AGES since I even thought of Galaxie 500. Saw them decades ago in Van, IIRC it was at the Orpheum.
I was a few rows from the stage, stage right/house left and they played freq'n' loud!
It's a fantastic venue, IMO.
There was another band that night, but I don't remember who. Maybe Laurie Anderson? I saw her about the same time if not that night.
So long ago... the memories leak out and the fuzzy-fog fills in.
Anyway, the DIY Flux thread got me on a Mayfield kick...
Oh, and a lot of Mingus lately as well.

Mrs Octpuss is outside playing with our kid so I'm dancing round the rest of the house getting some cleaning done. Stuck on an old DJ set by Erol Alkan and have been grooving out to this wonderful track.
