Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

YouTube algo suggested this to me and I had to click, I've had his stuff on repeat for a while now. Really catchy and a fun distinct detuned retro style.

He has complete videos of each song and an album on Spotify.

Woke up with this stuck in my head

I've never heard this before but I'm in love with it. I just looked up Raphael Saadiq and discovered he was in Tony! Toni! Tone! - I had their album Who? on cassette when I was a kid and wore that thing out.

I'm going to have to give him a serious listen, that song was fantastic.

That album and The Way I See It are great. I'm not really familiar with his output beyond that

I had that tape

There's a skip in the first 30 seconds of my copy of this record which until now was difficult to replace. Just learned that they're finally reissuing on vinyl. Pre-order acquired. I also learned that they're touring again, aaand they played the crystal ballroom a couple days ago wompwomp.

Retreading Autolux today
3 piece ft Greg Edwards (Failure) on guitar. Always liked Greg's pop sensibilities covered in noise and feedback.
First album was produced by T Bone Burnett
Their other 2 full lengths all vary a bit more but the freshman release is still my favorite.
Failure got back together(!!), Clara Alzar has since played with Jack White a bit and the bassist did a 2 year fed sentence for importing blow from Mexico.

One of my favorite artists bests songs IMO. This version has me so torn. Vocals are great, the 80’s indy sort of pep from the instrumentation though.
