Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

Currently on a Love & Rockets kick. When I was young, I just knew I liked their music;
now I have a new perspective and hear all sorts of new-to-me nuances/influences and the like.

CHECK OUT THAT P-BASS!

I've always wanted a completely blacked-out unlined fretless, maybe that was subliminally implanted in my brain way back when by this vid, before I even knew I wanted to PLAY bass. Even back then, pre-bass-aspirations, I thought David J was the coolest in Bauhaus or L&R.

NONE-BLACKER BASS!

Wide Eyes released this remixed and remastered version of one of my favourite albums of all time and I'm just sitting here vibing with it. Subverted my expectations a little bit while also feeling familiar in the best way and the production is so much better, I'm very happy with it!

New Jason Isbell (solo) record is good. It's a breakup record, pretty intimate without being too pretentious. A lot of John Prine-ish lyrical moments, regarding the wordsmith, not the content.
Just Jason and his guitar, as he stepped away from the 400 unit on this one. I've enjoyed it, as much as one can enjoy a record like this.

I admit I have listened to everything I can find by Calibro 35. One of the few acts ever that gets me like that. Here they cover Ennio Morricone. The music they create fits right in with Schiffrin, Riz Ortolani, old Pink Floyd ( pre dark side Gilmour floyd ), many others. Owning their heritage.

I'll have to pull these cats up next bench session. I love live semi- avant garde stuff. I've been circling back to some live Einstürzende Neubauten over the last few weeks but it's sometimes hard at the bench not to loose focus and just watch ...
