I made so many silly errors in boxing this baby. I managed in the drilling process to get the switch placement completely wrong and decided to handwire all the pots and switches as a remedy. After burning up a perfectly serviceable normal-sized SPST, I was left with two sub-mini variants as you can see. Since they sported PCB pins, I kludged the wiring by using two tiny pieces of Veroboard with wires attached to reach the board (not shown).

Verdict: Does nice things to bass from subtly to obviously overdriven and of course works with 'normal' guitar to boot.

The gutshot is a work in progress minus the ICs which I did install (!) before boxing it up. Thought it wise to socket the FETs but they worked perfectly on its first fireup. I made things so complicated for myself through haste to finish given our recent rash of power cuts but thankfully all's well that ends well, as the cliché goes.

Sorry folks, I now notice that the ICs are actually in place. Blame it on my eyesight or 'the bossa nova' at your choice

Thanks @steviejr92. More to the point maybe 🤔, they fit the fairly cramped space and the grunt switch operates well to change the level of low frequency saturation. I have a feeling that this might well be one of those sleepers that eventually one can’t do without. Going to road test it on an upcoming ‘classic blues and rock’ gig tomorrow. The final judgement rests with my guitarist colleague: if he smiles, it’s working; if not, well that’s another story.

Clean build and very graceful recovery....been there done that hahahah

Obsidius build reports give me major fomo. It's a sign to build one.

Congrats on the drill-error save. Those little toggles look good exactly where you placed them.
Let us know if your guitarist smiles. :)
