What can I say it's a boss oc2 works great.
I think I used bat41's instead of the germaniums per other forum post recommendations, don't think I had to do any other swaps. Taydas metallic brown turned out really nice!
Cool and fun to have, using a tentacle after too into a distortion is fun. Get all synthy.

Trying another bezel. I kind of like these since they are nice and flush and keep it consistent. Maybe I should stop doing raw led. Use the intended color led as well. The bezel isn't enough to color the light from the led itself.

Socketed all the ics just in case cuz there's so many. It'd suck if any of em them didn't work.

Fresnel Lens — that's-no-bezel.png

Named after French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel (the "s" is silent) for use in lighthouses and still found in theatre-lighting as well as on pedal-faces. It's become my favourite form of bypass indication, possibly because I was heavily involved in theatre earlier in my life-span.

Gorgeous colour of enclosure you have there, I have something similar that's also intended for an Ocelot.

Keep these great builds coming!

🤷‍♂️
I've alWays put the emPHAsis on the seCOND sylLABle when pronouncing FrehNEL. That's how we said it in my theatre circles:
Lead Tech: "Hey Feral, the #8 Fresnel is burnt out, change its lamp for me, please".
Some say po-tay-tow and some say toe-mah-toe...

So I looked it up... according to WIKI:

(/ˈfreɪnɛl, -nəl/ FRAY-nel, -nəl; /ˈfrɛnɛl, -əl/ FREN-el, -əl; or /freɪˈnɛl/ fray-NEL)

But you know, most people can't pronounce "foyer" properly, and what is proper and according to whom is it proper?
It's another French word, so I pronounce it like a pro and say it properly: foy-yay.

D'addario. Another good example. It's NOT Dee-ah-dar-reo!
Wolfgang pronounces it correctly: Dah-dairy-yo.

Does one say luhd-wigg beat-hoven? NO, one says Lewd-vig Bate-offen.

Given that Fresnel's a French name, probably frayNEL is closest to an anglophone pronouncing it correctly.

When you say it, just use a Mel Blanc French accent:

So, uhm, yeah. @Vild, great build — will you be attempting labelling or graphics for this or any of the other awesome builds you've been posting?

Thanks! Generally no but sometimes I cut up some random stickers to get letters for them. I actually ended up putting a zoom (that zoom) sticker on the lightspeed for example lolol And I did paint a waffle on the awful waffle with some acrylic markers after taking pictures.

I think maybe having no control labels helps me dial things in by ear rather than looks so I don't miss the labels too much. But once I figure out what's what I kind of do it anyway maybe idk. Not that I wouldn't love labels, just that that would slow me down too much at the moment.
I don't have the equipment or space to deal with chemicals, the graphic design skills to do stickers for each one yet, etc.. plus I have about 20 pcbs and all waiting for me.
Part of me thinks I should've done each build one by one and breadboard and personalize it before making stuff, but I'm trying to get some research material going lol. Figure out what circuits I like in the first place. Try out some different enclosures and color combos. Etc...

I find anything with more than four knobs could use labels, well maybe five. Depends on what it is.
A five-knob OD with GAIN VOL BASS MIDS TREBLE doesn't need labels,
but a six-knob compressor I need labels.

Also, some circuit labels can be helpful: it's good to grab an orange one-knob pedal and know whether it's the Orange Squeezer you just built or the Phase 90 you made last month.

Graphics and labelling on pedals are my Achilles-heel. I want pro-look without pro-effort, though. *sigh*

It's always important to get the right emPHAsis on the correct syLAble . . .
