Oklahoma - 30 years

Hey Michael, are you in Oklahoma too? Thanks for sharing this. I was in 2nd grade when this happened. I honestly don't think about it too often except for around anniversaries. I know a fireman who was a first responder that day and his stories, both from the bombing itself and his ongoing PTSD, are absolutely horrifying to hear.

No I'm not from OK but we're all one country, and this in particular affected me. We can't forget crap like this, what hatred can do.
(I was way older than 2nd grade.... :ROFLMAO: )

Incidentally, Trevor Rabin is naturalized South African and the bombing at OK really affected him as well. But he waited almost 30 years to deal with the subject with the song I linked.

Yeah, he’s from Joburg AFAIK.

I saw him play early on in Cape Town with a band called Conglomeration. He was 16 and could already shred with the best. 🇿🇦

Next thing I knew he’s playing with Yes. To which one can only say ‘Wow,’ regardless of one’s musical preferences, I guess.

Thanks for the post, Mike

I have more respect for him as a musician AND a guitarist than I ever did when he was fronting that "variant" of Yes. He can still shred like nobodies business. I love his latest solo album "Rio". (Named after one of his grand daughters).

Yes, truth to say I really love Steve Howe and he’s a tough act to follow, I guess. I’ll check his latest stuff out.

Me too, Steve Howe was my first guitar hero and I was a huge Yes fan up until "Drama" (and the band drama that came with it hahaha).
Stepping into those shoes must have been tough, but I don't think it's an overstatement to say that Trevor saved the band from becoming a footnote in prog history. Not exactly MY type of music but I respect what he did keeping band focused and cranking out hit after hit,
