I finished this one up a few months ago — back when I could occupy my garage for more than 10 minutes without becoming dangerously dehydrated.

With a neck single coil's tone rolled off, it gets pretty close to the sound on the record. If it could do that glitchy rattle, it would be even closer.

I've got S9018's in it, right at the schematic's HFEs.

I like to take everything out of the enclosure to remove flux, so I usually use the big outtie DC jacks. I've never been wild about how they look, so I tried using a JST connector on a mini jack with the connector tucked under the board. I haven't made up my mind whether I'll do that again. What I'd really like is for someone to make an outtie that doesn't stick out absurdly far from the enclosure.

I went with a bypass board, probably because of the heat in the garage. I almost always like the look of a hand-wired switch better.

I got the name a little higher than I'd have liked, but, I'm trying to learn to live with that.

Edit: The photos have revealed some flux residue that I wasn't seeing in person. Everybody relax; I'm gonna get that shit off of there tout suite.

No basements where you are? The subterranean workshop maintains a steady cooler temp. But back to your pedal... any chance a demo is in the works?

Stomp switch white plastic washers are perfect for inserting over an outtie DC jack (on the inside of the enclosure) to pull the outtieness back into a more reasonable extension from the enclosure. I think I used two of them. The fresh new downside to that is that it takes up more space inside the enclosure. :rolleyes:

Ha! I do this when possible, even though it requires enlarging the bore on them to fit onto Cliff's outties. Example here.

Yeah, you definitely know my pain. I'm thinking of trying out a portable AC in the garage. It's not insulated, but it's not huge and I really only need to get it down to 82 or 83 degrees before I can be relatively comfortable in front of a fan.

I actually have a couple of portables for hurricanes. It would probably take 24 hours straight blowing to cool off a garage. Then don’t look too hard at your electric bill…..
 
I didn't have much luck with a portable AC. To be fair, my exhaust hose was longer than recommended, but after running all day it would barely drop the temperature in a closet-sized laundry room by a degree or two.

A mini-split, on the other hand, will freeze you out of there and doesn't cost that much more than a portable unit.

I've been thinking of that too. My HVAC guy, who's probably the best service person I've ever had as far as home services go, recommended that route. I guess I'm going to have to start shopping.
