Parentheses Fuzz with Intelligent Relay Bypass

Hey everyone, I am having some issues with the Intelligent Relay Bypass on the Octave switch for Parentheses Fuzz. I am getting no octave effect, both boost and fuzz work. There is an insanely high noise even with gain turned down. When fully Turing octave pot the there is no sound, other wise it has no effect. The momentary switch doesn't have any effect. When I turn it on the octave led blinks and either stays on or give a click and turns off. It seems to alternate randomly.

Ok this sounds like its oscillating. Now as you have it does it still squeal? Just getting in on this and need a little help understanding whats actually going on here. Please be patient with me just trying to catch up lol
That's what I was thinking, the squeal isn't super loud but it does change tone when I move the oct pot.

Totally understand. I tried to troubleshoot that damn Cosmos delay from pcbmania for over a year and a half. Finally ended up just trashing the board so I could stop banging my head. Hopefully that won’t be the case here. Looking through the recent troubleshooting threads, the parenthesis has cropped up a few times. Did you happen to get any voltages on the transistors?

For my working mini the collector voltages (with 9.5v source from a OneSpot) are:
Q2-9.28
Q3-7.19
Q4-6.59
Not sure what kind of diodes I put in mine, but they have a forward voltage/drop of .3v. Notable, but probably inconsequential, substitutions were I used 1uf FILM caps in C3/7/20

On the E leg I got

Q2 6.42
Q3 6.70
Q4 9.14

On the collector

Q2 0.25
Q3 1.96
Q4 3.87

Q1 is putting out .88 out of leg source (2)

So the important voltages would be coming off the collectors of the transistors which for a 2n5089 would be the right leg (flat side facing you) and the left leg of the 2n5087 (flat side facing you) unless yours for some reason have a different pinout. Your voltages (provided they are indeed coming off the collector lead) seem to be in proportion. Not gonna lie, I am kind of out of ideas at this point. @steviejr92 i’m tapping you in

No no you have your voltages wrong.

Q2 Collector should be getting 9V.
Q3 BASE should be getting 9V.
Q4 Collector should be getting 9V.

If you're having trouble just look up each transistor pinout for reference!

Lets start here. If you can verify you're getting these voltages then we shall proceed!

I am getting
Q2 6.3
Q3 6.2
Q4 9.0

you thinking R7?

No voltages are the same on either side of the resistor. That would be true if there was some kind of voltage divider between VCC and the Collector of Q2. So Q2 Collector should be receiving 9V.

Not sure if you are still trying to troubleshoot this or not, but found this today while searching up something else:
Give it a read through.

Awesome thanks

I looked through and briefly thought there was something wrong with my R5 resistor.

My pedal doesn't sound too bad but the octave pot still acts as a volume.

I posted in that thread with a link to this thread. IDK I'm starting to go a little crazy.
