Here's the final build of 2025. @blackhatboojum and I like to geek out on circuits, taking deep dives down brands, pedal types and getting deep in the weeds about the stuff that we think we can hear a difference about
. On the topic one day of phasers and my move back to the phase 90, we talked about the phase 45 and why there aren't more boards available for either pedal. So he decided to whip one up.
In his typical fashion, Clinton knocked it out of the park. A clean, noise free layout that was easy to build. I used to have a reissue DOD phasor 201 that I unloaded for something else years ago, and I remember it being a great subtle phaser and it's essentially a phase 45 with different component values. This is build delivers sonically. It doesn't take over the sound the way the 90 does. At slower speeds it does gentle phasing that reminds me of a harmonic tremolo. In the middle it's kind of like a chorus that got a medium movement. At higher speeds it does the univibe swirl very well, but without that thump that overtakes the signal.
For the enclosure I used a matte black tayda box and UV print. Clinton named it the peace keeper after the colt 45. I went with the punisher since I couldn't have it blank with John Cena
. Momentary relay bypass for added versatility in use. A great sounding phaser and different flavor for the toolbox.
