@Fuzzonaut's cat made me post some pics of Kiki, who is now 14 and still a wild grrrrl. Part Maine Coon, this former shelter cat really stretches out when sleeping - especially in warm weather. And she's quite the acrobat, she runs at warp speed and can jump up onto places that our other 3 cats can't access. Happy Thanksgiving!

Slipped on the icey-snow in our backyard and tore her right rear ACL . Had an x-ray in the afternoon; supposed to hear from the surgeon tomorrow to set up an appointment for further assessment, then the surgery appointment and after that about 12 weeks recovery time…

I’m hoping she can resume our regular walks by the coming spring.



As you can see, she loves the snow.
Pic above is from two days ago;
She dives into deep snow snout first, burrows a few feet forward then breaches like a whale bursting through the surface, snorting snow everywhere.
Her favourite season, but…No more breaching this winter, she’ll be barely able to powder her nose lightly…

My pup got an ACL surgery in 2019 (TPLO procedure). The initial recovery period was pretty intense - using a harness to get him in and out of the house, and then doing our best at home PT, but we got through it, and it healed up perfectly. We had another great four years of running all over the place.

I hope she heals up quick!

Just got a call from the surgeon, soonest for the consultation is Dec 30th.

Looking into another doctor a friend (dog-trainer) recommended to us.


I didn’t sleep last night, carried the doggo outside 12:30 / 3:30 / 6am for pee-breaks. Wife is looking after her now while I take my Mom to see her doctor…

Parker is getting old so we now let him do that. He learned that from our much younger dog so who said old dogs don’t learn new tricks? And when they are blind and deaf that’s even more impressive!

Maddie, and her Christmas monkey that has been with her for her 15 years. She's had an ear canal fully removed due to repeat infections and scar tissue, and a torn dog ACL, but she's in the best health in the past 6 years.

Hey all, can’t thank everyone here enough for all the positive vibes sent to Sasha.

A dog-trainer friend suggested to try her vet: we reached out and with all the good vibes from here the new vet just happened to have had a cancellation — we have a consultation first thing in the morning.

Wonderful news!!! I thought I was going to have to amputate my cat's back leg, but it seems the mass is shrinking and I probably won't have to.

Get well soon Sasha!

Sasha’s tripodding around the house without the sling and started to tap her bad-leg’s toes, already testing it when she’s supposed to be chilling — but she’s chilling a lot nonetheless, like right now:
