Anybody have experience with the pigtronix tuner. I am looking for a new tuner. Something simple. Something for gigs. Any recommendations would be appreciated. All my stuff is old lol.

I’m a fan of Pigtronix stuff, but their tuner generally doesn’t look appealing to me. I’m a firm strobostomp HD advocate, but I’d go for Boss or the Polytune before I go for the Pigtronix if I had to pick something else.
 
Strobostomp Mini user here. It isn't the simplest tuner but it definitely isn't hard to use. I would also probably just go with a polytune 3 but i got a good deal on the strobostomp.
 
I have a StroboStomp HD, and while it tunes just fine, it's difficult to see from an angle. That wouldn't be an issue for gigs, but it's awful sitting on the bench in front of me.

I should probably grab one of those PolyTunes while they're on sale.
 
Okay thank you. I had my eye on the polytune as well, I just noticed the pitronix had top jacks and a large bright display. Question is, is it chromatic?
I believe the polytune is chromatic.
My initial knee jerk reaction was boss tu-3. Though I like the idea of trying something different.
 
My current fave is the Peterson Strobostomp Mini - Top jacks on a mini pedal! They did spoil that a bit by putting little switches and the DC jack on the sides but it still fits into a tiny space. And it works very well.

I've always liked the Korg tuners. I've had a couple of Polytuners but the Korgs are slightly easier to use for some reason - they don't wobble as much or something. Plus the actual "polytuning" of the polytuner is not everything it's cracked up to be IMHO. I always ended up using it as a regular tuner.
 
I have a Polytune 3 and it works very well but for some reason sometimes it struggles to detect the G
The "polytuning" isn't very efficient but it can be useful to give a quick strum before a song, so you can check the tuning

Yeah, the new Strobo with top jacks would be my next tuner, BUT I'm just going to rehouse my Turbo...

I'd get one of these, if I could find one:

Top jacks! Well, except for the power. And it has little switches on the sides too. But like Nigel Tufnell I'm a professional. I get on with the job.
