Pitch Witch modulation problems

Hello! The led in the circuit (5mm yellow) does not seem to put out enough light to make changes in pitch. I know that the modulation circuit works because light from my phone was capable of changing the pitch of the signal. Has anyone else encountered this problem with their pitch witch?

Check all the components on this section of the circuit

Some layouts use a VTL5C2 there's nothing particularly special about the LED in it, according to the datasheet it's 2v fwd voltage (typically 1.65v)

As @moonlightpedalbuilds says check the components in that area particularly R15 value and solder joints

No anything after LM386 is usually a manufacturers description of something

Think the N1 is just the package type/ number you'll get other letters on different ICs like L lead free UB unbuffered etc

It'll usually tell you in the datasheet somewhere

There’s too much glare to read all the values so that’ll be up to you to thoroughly inspect against the build doc but I see one wrong cap here, should be 10N where you have 100N.
