Popping noise when pressing the stomp button

Good morning. I built a 6 band EQ, and when I press the stomp button, I get a popping noise. I've attached a short video. Don't mind the noise in the video, the amp is turned up so you can hear the popping. Thanks.

Not sure. I built it exactly as the build document recommended.

There is a pulldown on the output, not input, but the standard wiring diagram grounds the PCB input in bypass so it shouldn't be necessary.

However, you can certainly give it a shot by tacking a 1M resistor from the IN pad to GND.

If I change R1 from 1K to 1M or put a 1M resistor between IN and C1, would that help the popping?

That will stop the signal. Put a 1M resistor across the input jack lugs. That should fix it.

Changing R1 to 1M or inserting one in series between IN and C1 isn't what you want. If you want to put a pulldown resistor in the circuit, you'd attach one side of the resistor to the circuit IN and the other side to ground, like @Robert said here:

I've tried all of these suggestions and I still have the popping noise.

Thump on the enclosure when you have the effect engaged and see if you can hear it.
