Pot insulator?

I'm about to start on an Abyss build and I see on its page that there is a pot insulator suggested. It seems to be intended for the dual pot but what's the purpose exactly....something additional to a dust cover or does it essentially do the same thing?

Electrical tape should work use two layers it’s to keep pot from shorting the board

Don’t forget the ski mask.

Cool. I just use dust covers but it’s good to know I wasn’t missing some additional function it served. Thx!

It’s for dual pots. The normal ones won’t fit on them.

Yeah that’s what I saw. Just wanted to make sure it was doing essentially same thing as a dust cap.

It does, but it may be very difficult to get a standard dust cap on a dual pot. I’m sure you could cut some of the dust cap off and get it to work, but those insulators look handy.
