Precipice Overdrive (Greer Black Mountain)

Another simple build. I’ve been wanting to get more into adding artwork. So for this one I drew a craggy precipice. Paint pens and two layers of polycrylic on a Tayda matte gray enclosure.

It is fun to play on, but it didn’t really get exciting for me. The higher gain clipping is “a” sound, but not really “the” sound I’m going for. I did like it on low gain settings. But I already have a Mach 1 to do the low gain thing.

I really dig this drive, it’s very crunchy. I have a Karen I didn’t bother boxing because of this one.

The Karen I made was overly bass heavy, it’s ok for a different flavour but I never boxed it.

Excellent work! Like @szukalski, I also concur with your findings. As far is the whole "Marshall in a box" thing goes, this one is my favorite thus far, but it's not a sound I'm often looking for.

And yea, the Mach 1 is where it's at...imo the best low gain OD out there (generally speaking)
