This isn't a post about developing but I figure since it's related to the daisy seed it should go in here?

I ordered this a couple months ago and was finally about to use it in a terrarium build. I go to load some random code on it to test it but I stop to admire the board. Lo and behold there are 5 caps standing straight up, a few missing (could be intentional), and a couple all lopsided and bridged to each other. This is clearly a reject and idk how quality control could miss all these errors.

Genuine questions:
They only have a limited manufacturing defect 30 day warranty but do you think they would stand behind their product enough to replace this even though it's too late? Should I even try contacting them and would y'all wanna hear how they handle it? Should I try to load up some code anyway?

Oh and actually there is 6 that are only connected to one pad (the 6th one I found wasn't standing quite straight up like the others lol).
The last picture is probably the best to see them all.

This is absurd. We call it "tombstoning" when the capacitors flip up like that during reflow, and it was one of the very first things I was taught to look for when inspecting SMD boards. That's rookie stuff. Also I would venture to say the pads are oversized and too close together, resulting in too much solder being applied and components sliding together. Oversized pads are fine for hand soldering, but not for reflow soldering. And regardless of the soldering technique there's no excuse for missing this during inspection.

I love the nickname tombstoning lol and I appreciate the expertise! It's funny how the bigger parts look like their pads are the correct size, and for all the little ones it looks like they just used the same size pads. So I agree and think they should've known better. This is the current rev 7 board and everything.

I sent them a ticket through their website. Once they respond I will be able to send them pictures and be able to go from there. It's been about 2 months instead of 1 since I received it but hopefully they will take care of me.

Good eye! I’ve had this before too.

ES customer service is pretty good though, I’m sure they’ll take care of you. I’ve had to return seeds a handful of times, and there’s never been an issue.
