Yeah its a great circuit with great crunch just that the off board wiring is a rats nest and board mounted pots would be a plus seeing that I’m having intermittent problems from it

I believe the layout was made from that schematic. I have made 2 working boards off that layout so......IMHO yes the schematic is correct although I did not check it I just know the layout works

Not yet, but that's the schematic I used aside from the buffered bypass.

As a side note - as for me, there's a bit too much hiss with maxed/almost maxed gain.

It's all good ,mine are a bit on the noisy side too but I figured it was my rats nest wiring. The demos sound good though and not noisy from what I've heard.
Only thing I have noticed is the tone pots do do something but not very drastic changes. Is it the same for you on the breadboard?

No, EQ section works perfectly fine. Make sure it's connected between R12 and R11 (not between R11 and C13), and that MID pot (RV5) leg 1 goes to GND.
