Rack stuff... mounting questions

Alright, time for another round of silly questions about seemingly simple stuff I know nothing about. Get your memes and snarky comments ready to roast my dumbass. Alright here we go. I have accumulated a small collection of random rackmount gear and I have no rack to mount. I know a few of you guys use rack stuff and I could use a little guidance on buying mounting hardware and some sort of rack something or another to put it in. I have a Fuhrman power conditioner, Dynachord CLS-222, Radial prodigy attenuator ( I might not mount that in the rack because it gets pretty hot after 20 minutes or so) and also I want to mount my AXE I/O interface in a rack too. The AXE I/O doesnt have any official solution for rack mounting it but other people have just zip tied theirs too half rack drawers. The axe I/O is basically a half rack. Anybody have solutions for mounting stuff without standard rackmount holes? I'm considering just opening it up and mounting rack ears to the enclosure. I am kind of leaning towards buying hardware and just building a head type enclosure to mount it all in. Where can I buy mounting hardware? what do you call it? I don't know the nomenclature and the only mounting hardware I could find was expensive Radial stuff that was product specific. Thanks in advance. Roast my noob ass

Rack stuff is expensive even the blank enclosures are 💰. Brand wise, you could check out procraft and on stage, both are pretty budget friendly as far as rack gear goes for mounts and parts. Should be able to find them even on Amazon, there is a lot of good deals for road cases on marketplace and CL as well

The parts for mounting it sounds like you are asking about are called “ears”

Hell yeah. Thanks for the input. I was hoping you would chime in.

Something like these
Will be the cheapest new option.
There's probably a Musicaly or other chinesium option for a little less.
But for a little more you can probably find a beater road case.
Server/computer racks are the same 19 in width, but often much deeper. Some of both rack types use encapsulated nuts that snap into the square holes instead of tapped holes. This has the benefit of easy repair if one strips.
For diy, check over at Parts Express and search Rack Rails. I will be hesitant of any cheap Amazon stuff without decent reviews. Metal quality. Poor taps. Painted holes, etc.
There are rack shelves and rack drawers as well. Again, mind the depth

Nice rack!

I’ve got one of those On-Stage ones too, but I put it under the table (or the tv tray from Target, that my mixer sits on, to be more precise):

I’ve got two of these handy rack shelves in it:
One is for the two Boss VF-1s (the red half-rack units near the bottom). I think Boss sold a mounting kit for them back in the day, but good luck finding one now. I just velcroed them to the shelf.
The other shelf is at the top. It holds my MOTU M4 interface and the V256

IIRC, the gearspace (formerly gearslutz, it got a bowl cut and moved to the burbs) diy sub has a lot of plans for racks posted, if you're looking to build one.

The now discontinued IKEA RAST tables made perfect racks(once rails were mounted).
