2E664925-F516-4D99-91B5-27AA6F5DDBB5.jpeg Alright, a few years ago I found a G&L ASAT Z3 on Reverb, per picture above. Unfortunately the delivery was scheduled for a day when we were out of town, so I asked a neighbor if she could receive it and asked the seller if he could set up the delivery to go to her apartment rather than ours. He did. We used to live in a Brooklyn apartment building and package theft was happening pretty frequently, so I wanted to make sure things were set properly.

On the delivery date, I was watching the tracking and as soon as the guitar was marked as delivered I asked my neighbor if she had got it. She had not. She looked in the lobby and outside our apartment door. Nothing. I called the super and asked him if he had seen it. Nothing. I was getting increasingly nervous and contacted the seller to see if he had a way to contact the delivery service (I forget if it was UPS or FedEx). No dice.

After a few hours, the super calls me back and mystery solved: the guitar was delivered to my apartment and the cleaning lady, who had let herself in and was cleaning, had received it. I had totally forgot that she was gonna be there. And I was also not expecting them to deliver to my unit after the seller had set it up to go to my neighbor, which they completely ignored. At least it was a happy ending and I have been enjoying that guitar to this day!

A bonus story.

Man-boy (aren't we all?) starts building pedals. Tries a kit. Works great. Another couple. Awesome fun.
Builds a BOM and builds another. This is fun, some are even working right away.
I want to try my hand at Germanium, I hear those Russians have reserves.
Read through the forums, buy some P28, MP21A, MP38A. Cool cool.
They're at the Russian post office. Excited.
Russia invades Ukraine.
No updates.

Sometimes you just got to smile and say Slava Ukraini.

I just got a box of transistors that shipped from Ukraine about a month ago. I got lucky with timing.
