Custom discrete wound with unobtainium. With seaweed from Neptune's very own garden. Rice from the emperor's private stock. A completely original culinary breakthrough the world has never seen. Or as we say, breakfast...,

But seriously it's some knockoff brand I found here in Japan, because the name brand is about twice as much. It all tastes the same.

So my question is:

Is Dot Matrix Madness' Spam Lite find a new & improved Spam Lite?

Compare the above, for science, to this ol 'n from t'other thread, Micro XLR Hookups:

Indeed! Dot Matrix Madness's find has 25% less fat than the old Lite and has reduced sodium and fewer calories (well of course fewer calories, it has less fat *duh*).

I wonder if there's any compromise to the TASTE, though...

I knew spam only from Monty Python and email spam. ...

To better understand the Monty Python skit, it must be related that at the time the skit was made, the UK was utterly SICK TO DEATH of Spam having had it foisted upon them since the end of WWII — because, who could afford real meat?).

Then just as bicycles gave way to motorcycles, which gave way to motorcycles with side-cars, and then on to small automobiles — what with gas-rationing ending — and people gaining more buying-power), so too did culinary splendours give way to fine and yet finer offerings; so one of the first things to be crossed off the menu was Spam/Spam-a-likes.

So, I guess how the term ended up associated with e-mail has a strong correlation with the ubiquity of Spam in Post War society.

And that concludes today's Armchair Historian Episode,
