SOLVED Spatialist (arachnid v2) power issues

I’m new to electronics but this is my second pedal. I have been having issue with the power side of things. When the power comes into the board it should hit the 1n5817 and it does but I think I’m getting 9v on the wrong side. The circuit board has the square for that part on the right and that should indicate positive but I’m getting 9v from the left side and .46v on the right side (the side of the diode without the stripe I’m getting 9v).
Beyond this part I’m not getting above 1v where it should much higher. Is this a polarity issue as I believe it’s right but I could be wrong.

You should measure near 9V on both sides of the diode.

First, make absolutely sure your polarity is correct. If it's reversed the diode will block the voltage. (that's it's intended purpose)

Aside from that the most likely suspects would be a bad diode or a shorted component elsewhere.

This was my second diode in this spot as I thought it might be a dead part and im getting the same results. Hence why the part is hanging pretty far off the board.

Also my multimeter is reading positive voltage when measuring the positive power input to the board then I go to the diode and get positive 9v on one side and .46v on the other.

Check the resistance from the cathode end of the diode to ground.

Also post a clear pic of the entire PCB.

With power applied to the circuit, I was measuring the cathode end and it stated with a higher number then kept going down to 60.3k. Not sure if I’m doing that properly.

It sounds like a short. For starters, clean up all that solder on the top, and on the bottom, then add solder where it looks like there is none, on the backside. Reflow the rest of them. It should flow through the board like little silver Hershey kisses.

I reflowed the joints and after doing a bunch of test I have something to confess. My multimeter has been plugged I. Backward (reserve polarity) for I don’t know how long, I’m embarrassed.

So the voltage was wrong (reversed) and I fixed it and now I have tested the pedal and I have audio going through the circuit but I have a whining noise when engaged but I can hear the reverb as well. Not sure where the whining comes from.

I got my pedal to work. The input jack was wired incorrectly and testing the pedal outside of the inclosure is very useful. As when I put it in the inclosure it didn’t work so I didn’t have to recheck everything as I knew it was working outside the case. Thanks for the help.
