Spirit box no wet signal (noob Q)

I'm having a problem with my previously working spirit box, where I am no longer getting any wet signal after the r4 17k mod. I've even switched it back, but no fix yet. I am getting 5v at the pt2399, Belton brick, and the left leg of both L78L05s. I'm at a loss as to what else could be going wrong? I have no problem with getting dry signal through and noise increases with the depth knob. I can also hear the reverb effect if I jumper legs 13/14 on the pt2399. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If you use an audio probe you can find the spot where the signal actually stops passing through. I recommend giving that a shot. If you search the forum for audio probe, there are lots of threads explaining the concept.

So I fashioned up an audio probe, and Im not sure if Ive located the problem, but I am only getting signal from pin 15 of the pt2399, and it is getting pretty warm. Has the IC fried and needs replacing?

Ill have another big set of parts coming in a few weeks, I'll throw in another pt2399 with that order.
