Splitting a mono signal to play in both ears of headphones

I’m using a power amp pedal and want the ability to send the out to headphones it wasn’t set up for this so it just has a mono signal coming out.

Would it be so simple as taking a mono jacks tip and running two wires from there to the sleeve and tip of a stereo jack? Or do I need to add more ?

Thanks

Passively splitting the signal will diminish its amplitude. I recommend using a splitter-buffer.
Do I need to be concerned about impedance with the buffer? The output of the amp is supposed to be going to an 8-16 speaker. Figured 32 headphones should be fine since it’s higher. But not sure what the impedance of the buffer splitters would be.

Using something like this.

It doesn’t sound horrible without the buffer just running from a mono jack to the tip and sleeve of the stereo, but obviously I’d like to get the ideal sound.

Thanks

if the receiving end is higher number(16+ ohm)than the transmitter(the 4~8ohm of most amps/radios)no worries, it's goign the otehr way things get wonky and burn out.

I get that I guess I just don’t know how to tell what the impedance of that buffered splitter is going to to be. I’m assuming higher than 8 ohm so shouldn’t matter.
