May is estimated due date. Now I’m glad I didn’t buy the T Rex Binson echorec. Definitely going to yank $3k out of the retirement $$$$

Well.....

After listening to several videos (of the mono channel version) it's come to my attention that these sound like $#!+

The noise is insane. Like dozens of mice munching on crackers. wtf is T-Rex thinking?

Unless the stereo version has fixed this major flaw I'll just stick to my echorec pedal. Wasn't able to find any videos of the stereo version.

I don't have any experience with this unit, but I've owned both the Replicator Junior and Replicator Deluxe tape delays from TRex and I ended up getting rid of both because I wasn't happy with the noise. The overall tone is good, but even with a brand new tape installed (I stocked up because I thought I would keep the Deluxe for a while) it was too noisy for me.

Is that noise part of the original echorecs as well?

Even if if so, you'd think with modern high end components would have at least eliminated some of the issues. Then again, the tapeheads of the past might be better than today's.

Back in the 70’s I had a TEAC reel to reel with multi playback heads.

It was dead silent!!!! Nailed the Pink Floyd “Echos” sound

Wish I hadn’t sold that one……
