I've never heard anyone actually say "EN-EFF" out loud for nF. At my day job we use abbreviations like "mike" for microfarads and "puff" for picofarads. Interestingly neither of my day jobs since university have recognized nanofarads as a thing. Anything up to about 10nF is thousands of picofarads, and anything above that is decimals of microfarads. Interestingly my old manager would use "k-puff" or kilo-picofarads, but would never say nanofarads. For example:I was watching a Hellosailer video and the guy said 200 N.F. pointing a 200nF on the PCB. I always pronounce it or think of it as nano pico micro etc Farad. What do you say? Thinking of it How is that Hellosailer pronouncing micro?
"You have a couple hundred mikes of bulk capacitance on that rail, but you need 10 k-puff decoupling on each of the pins."
I honestly don't know because I'm on team octavia when it comes to Hendrix fuzz tonesWhy does everyone fawn over germanium fuzz faces when they talk about the so-called hendrix tone... even though jimi hendrix preferred the silicon ones?
I like the idea of fuzz, but my rig does not.. i should try making a pickup sim and see if that gets my board to be happy with one... i like the sunface style si ones..I honestly don't know because I'm on team octavia when it comes to Hendrix fuzz tones
I get liking the germie fuzz face for that overdrive to fuzz transition with a volume knob and the carbon battery trick as well but neither of those is necessarily associated with Hendrix
there's a misconception that only germaniums clean up well with the guitar's volume control, but have built a few with low gain silicon and find they can clean up too.Why does everyone fawn over germanium fuzz faces when they talk about the so-called hendrix tone... even though jimi hendrix preferred the silicon ones?
fair enough.. plus i can't see him getting hung up on a transistor.. he was exploring all of the latest tech in his day..there's a misconception that only germaniums clean up well with the guitar's volume control, but have built a few with low gain silicon and find they can clean up too.
Maxon and maxon made ibanez pedals often did as well.See how this pedal board has the resistors stood up instead of flat? Is boss the only one that did this? I've only ever seen this on their pedals.. and vintage radios.
It was an 80s japan thing
dead end fx had/has a repro board for an Ibanez fuzz that calls for a lead forming mandrel. I started one like … 4 years ago? I should go dig it up. Looks cool to me.Maxon and maxon made ibanez pedals often did as well.

that's funny name for round nose pliers heh..a lead forming mandrel.
