The led came on when I pressed the button at first, but after a few minutes it wouldn't turn on anymore. It never had any sound either. This is my first pedal build ever. Any help is appreciated.
The website made me reduce the photo resolution to upload. I did get an on-on-on switch. I'll double check that I got the right one. I know IC's soldered directly to the board make it harder to replace, but why do you think they could be damaged? I didn't hold the soldering iron on for too long and burn them up. I do have a multi meter, but don't have an audio probe.
I only have 2 wires on the input and output jacks and DC input. That's all I can see in the diagram from pedalpcb, but it seems like they all have a 3rd prong that should be connected to something. Should they be connected to something?
Oh, that's tough one for starters, ...., but very cool sounds!
- I'm not familiar with those jacks, just make sure you have tip (signal) and sleeve (ground) connected. Put a (mono) guitar cable in the jacks and beep it with the DMM. (To answer your question: no, 2 wires is fine, for input, output and dc, as long as the wires are "correctly connected".)
- power jack has a three prongs, yes, to add a battery, did you use the 2 "right" ones? I think so, but double check.
- You could report voltages on the pins of the ICs, following this numbering ... and somebody who knows more than me could interpret these readings.
- But in the end, I guess you need an audio probe to follow the signal:
