Symmetrical/Asymmetrical Clipping Switch - Cast Iron OD

So I'm looking at adding a switch to go between symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping, specifically in the Cast Iron overdrive. I've attached a schematic of the clipping diodes, and just want to make sure I'm thinking about this right.

First, if I want to just make it asymmetrical clipping, can I omit any one of the diodes and be ok? Jumper required? My plan was to omit D4.

Second, if I wanted to have the option for both and put them on a switch, I was thinking I could wire a DPDT ON/ON switch with the leads going to D4. On one side of the switch it will insert the diode, when flipped the other way it will omit the diode. Again, jumper required here on the switch, or just leave it empty?

I think you’re on the right track. With that plan you would need a jumper. Alternatively you could consider wiring in a diode with a lower forward voltage like a 5817 between D4 K and D3 A without a jumper. You could alligator clip a diode in that spot until you find one you like. You might find the a symmetrical soft clipping to be fairly subtle without a big difference in forward voltage but everyone prefers different things.
