Maaaan. As always, your guitar builds are doing something to me. Those firebird pickups look so good in that tele, I'm jealous.

Could you just cut a round bit out of the cab pickguard concentric with the volume knob? Maybe leave a few mm gap between the knob and the 'guard?

It's like Teles were born to have Firebird pickups, which are so sexy.
I would put them in my Jazzmaster if it wasn't routed for the huge stock pickups. Filtertrons are my second choice.

For the tiny hole in the bridge, I was going to suggest putting a small LED in there — but what you really should do...

...is put a micro-diorama of your shop/recording-studio in there — then take it to guitar shows and charge guitar-geeks 50¢ a peep with an endoscope.
