Just built a The John Preamp, based on the Thorpy/Victory The Jack. The pedal is an easy build despite the atrocious lack of documentation on the website (actually it made no difference at all!) and despite my best attempts to completely stuff it up it worked. Note - Don't use TLC272CP instead of TL072 - it will make strange sounds! The PCB is excellent and I like being able to attach my stomp switch LED directly to the board by just bending the leads coming from the switch.
I haven't taken any pics - I don't do graphics so just imagine a sparkly grey Tayda 125C with a perfectly built PCB inside. Part of the reason I couldn't be bothered taking pics of this one because the circuit itself is a bit meh. It does the job I guess but it's not particularly inspiring. With the right guitar and amp it might hit the spot - actually I'm sure it will - but for me it is just another pedal which sounds like a pedal. I was expecting more I think but maybe I shouldn't have. I don't like Victory amplifiers and find Thorpy pedals a bit over-rated.
Mind you I am looking forward to my Dane PCB arriving soon. Maybe I should expect it to be crap so I'll be pleasantly surprised...
