So how was your Monday? Did you fly like an Eagle or auger-in (as Chuck Yeager might say)…mine was a typical tweener but I’m boring so how was Monday for the rest of youse?

Was late to class today because they decided to do paving projects all over the town, so despite living 5 min away from my university, it took like 40 minutes to get there because every direct way there was blocked off. Worked on some wire sculpture stuff in my sculpture class, so my hands are totally stained from oil and black oxide coating. Other classes were interesting but not worth sharing about rn. When I got home I worked on some readings for my online class, and then started populating my terrarium board (still no power back in the workshop but I got fed up and fed like 4 extension cables to get power to the soldering iron for the time) but realized I’m all out of 1u film caps and can’t find any of my caps below 500pf (so no 100pf cap either). Made some really good spicy Mac and Cheese for dinner, and just got home from therapy a little while ago. Pretty normal day— nothing much to say about it otherwise.

I worked on UV designs during a class discussion about longtermism in my second class of the day. Been trying to think of graphics for the Conqueror Supreme (and Mystery Machine when I buy one. I’ll use the same graphics for both), Pharmacist, and Conqueror. It’s odd to me that the Jext Telez White Pedal was themed and marketed after the Beatles White Album when they didn’t even use any of the JMI SS Vox amps (Conqueror, Defiant, Supreme, etc) on the white album.
Similarly, it’s odd that the Dr. Robert is marketed around being a UL730 preamp when the Beatles aren’t even confirmed to have used a UL730 on anything, while they used the 7120 pretty extensively and that had the same preamp— why didn’t they market it as a 7120-in-a-box instead? Would generate the same type of hype while being more accurate to the Beatles’ history.
 
Mine has been excellent. My beautiful wife took my kids to the park instead of waking me so she can work on her million school projects (finishing up a DNP) so I woke up naturally to two quiet cups of coffee and then I cranked the Meters' Rejuvenation while I populated the caps on a bunch of pcbs. So quiet, then so so so funky.

Gonna eat a Cubano sammich in a minute. After a fig style break 😎😛.
 
my Monday was remote but was so busy couldn’t get any build time in. Then Magic arrived from Mr. PedalPcB in the mail and some Stompbox parts. Then big storm killed the power… which is still out. Going to lose the fridge of groceries. But an epic double rainbow happened after the storm. Other than that I’m excited to build a Sproing and Flock once the power returns. I thought I broke my right pinky toe yesterday morning. Damn kid's scooter laying sideways on the kitchen floor. I hobbled around a little yesterday, but this morning, it felt way better. Still looks bruised pretty bad, but I can walk pretty normal now. So, I feel like I already won a small prize right there.

And to top it off, my older had a good first day of school. Hopefully, my "domestic terrorist" twins have a good first day at Pre-K tomorrow. One was stoked to pack his lunch, so I do actually have hope.

Finally, watching a recent episode of That Pedal Show, I am feeling real inspired to build and use 2 delay pedals together. I have the DMD-2 and the Hydra on the list, so let's go Post #13. Also just makes me want to throw down on the MBP Tourbus more. Now if they were just back in stock.

So today, I mowed the lawn, took my daughters to riding lessons, got them ready for their first day at school tomorrow! One starting grade three, one starting pre-kindergarten for the first time! Very exciting.
Then to top it off I’m watching “thirteen lives” a Hollywood take on a real life event that some friends of mine took part in. I think the Jimmy Chin documentary is better so far.
Finally along with all that and on a much more pedal based line, I have been working on a Duophase for sometime and actually got to the testing phase tonight and both sides work. First time! Amazed!!! Just just got to box it. So all in all a good day for me.

Extension cords are how I powered my office for a while. It worked until the electrician could show up.

Mmmm, spicy mac and cheese.
