What's Happening with y'all?
I’ve been on the job hunt for the last 3 weeks. I’m a chef and the previous restaurant I was working at closed down. I landed one part time gig at a small dive bar with great food in my neighborhood. I’ve got interviews with some high volume restaurants in downtown Chicago this afternoon and tomorrow. And I’ve got a “stage” on Wednesday at a very nice bar in a high rise downtown. In the restaurant biz a “stage” is where you go work in the kitchen for a day to see if you can handle it and also to see if you like working in that kitchen. I’m confident I will get the high-rise job on Wednesday but wish me luck anyways. I’m planning on working two or maybe three jobs for a few months so I can buy some new amps and guitars and a house.

What's happening? I'm having a break from pedal building while I concentrate on other creative projects, like the two bands I'm in, other musical collaborations that might or might not ever amount to anything, and writing fiction, which was going well but seems to have gotten a bit bogged down recently. I'm sure that's temporary.

I guess if I win (ha!) I'll be getting back to building pedals sooner than expected. I do have a couple of items on my wish list... EDIT: Derp. Sweetwater card. I'll recuse myself, then. Good luck, fellow forumers!

Yeah, I'm in. Or at least here. OK, maybe I'm just barely awake.

I saw the rock tumbler thing and thought: "Cool!" (I used to be into lapidary.)
Then I saw what I thought was "LEGO mandolin"and thought: "Even cooler!" Then my eyes focused and noted the actual spelling. (sigh)

Happy Sunday all. My trusty CS7 has finally started to circle the drain so I’ve replaced it with a CS12. Taking a break from wiring that in to watch some football with the kiddos. I like custom power cables for cleanliness/organization/aesthetics but it’s a tedious way to spend your afternoon… :p
Hmm, my current setup is one where I run the Quad Cortex, and all my pedals from a CS12 all day long. I've been thinking whether that's unhealthy for the hardware (well, I don't think most pedals care, not 100% sure about digital ones and the QC, and the power supply) and I should maybe stop doing that.

As for what else is up, not much. Waiting on the parts for the Distortron, haven't had the energy to do any other testing or measuring for it.

I've been planning on a small upgrade to my pedalboard. The CS12 (under the board) is so big that I had to set it up so that the gap between the top two slats is so long that I can't get all the pedals as high as I would like - so I'm adding a cheapo cutting board to fill the gap, allowing me to move the top rows a couple of centimeters higher, and allowing me to add another two pedals right at the bottom. But I realized I don't have the loop tape to make it work, yet.

Any actual pedal building will probably have to wait until next weekend.

I got some gravel today. It doesn't look like much but it's11.5 tons in weight, 20 to 40mm sized schist so the truck driver said.
Another lithology project?!? ;)
Earth Drive (thanks to Michael W’s review), super 64, glory hole, gravitation (thanks to Michale W’s review)
I think a LOT of builds have been due to Michael's reviews. I wish I had the time, energy and talent he radiates.

That's terrible about your neighbor. Our daughter was telling us a similar story the other day about one of her client's sister who lost her house the same way.
On the plus side, I have an awesome pedal backlog..
You've also created quite a few brilliant design layouts! I don't have to tell you to mind your manners with the high voltage, but I kinda just did anyway.🤷‍♂️
Built my son's first PC yesterday, it was meant to be a cheapish build, ended up being 700€ 🥲
At least now he has a very good PC and we had fun building it
I assembled PCs at a computer shop back when Windows was first released. I wasn't an actual employee...I had befriended the owner whose shop was across the parking lot from our offices and he was slammed with orders from the same wave that swept the US. I'd guess I put together at least a hundred i386s that summer. You might recall Microsoft included a music video with the installation...Weezer-Buddy Holly. I used that on each build to test AV function. Talk about an earworm!
Fig can help you with your stone.
Everybody Must Get Stoned. :ROFLMAO: ......break time!

I'm building a non boss pedal right now 😑🤣🤔🤡🤦🤷
Steady...steady... :ROFLMAO:

I have no doubts it will be spectacular as always. (y)

Thomas made a connection with a penguin, chased a peacock and got to hold a Hyacinth Macaw called Neville.
Have you ever had a peacock sneak up on you and scream? Luckily my ticker has been a good un.

I went and visited my hometown today and barely recognized the place. I think it’s nearly tripled in size since I left about 30 years ago. Crazy.
We had this house built 33yr ago. There were ~4000 ppl then...60K now with a LOT more expected by 2040. So we're looking for another, less popular place. I keep wanting to video the traffic going by this house so everyone gets it. :ROFLMAO:

With any luck we will see the combined efforts come to fruition in the near future.
AI guitar pedal? It senses your mood and loads all the effects, amp and cabsims...makes you a latte and turns on the fan so your hair blows just right for the demo video? Well done man!

You give your cats baths, too? That's how I spent my Sunday afternoon. I emerged relatively unscathed this time - usually I suffer forearm devastation.
Yeah when they get smelly and dirty.
The one pictured is pretty quick to clean since he is short hair, but he is pretty wild. He got the side of my left foot.
The other is a long hair mixed somewhere with a rag doll, so that one is chill.
I normally control the cats while my wife does most of the cleaning.

You might recall Microsoft included a music video with the installation...Weezer-Buddy Holly. I used that on each build to test AV function. Talk about an earworm!
It also had the music video for Edie Brickell's "Good Times" - Blew my mind at the time that the CD-ROM could not only hold the entire OS installation, but two music videos as well!

Always so generous, @fig
I've got my first gig with my new band this weekend. I was just in a band with a nut job lead singer, so we left him and started a 3-piece doing a tribute to Godsmack. Not a huge fan of them but they do play loud and heavy-ish which I'm a fan of. I've played hundreds of gigs but still get nervous. So, that's what's happening!

I'm doing my usual too many fingers routine or as WWPJ say so eloquently too many hands to keep my eye on and as per it is indeed fast approaching midnight..... alright 3am then!

I was recently browsing through some stuff from my band management days and came across the original demo for this here tune in WMA format wassat? haha

It's amazing what production / over production can do to a tune

Compared to the tune off their album I prefer the demo version
