I ordered this a while back mostly because spaceman is in Portland and had a bunch of 2n2222a laying around. I was mostly underwhelmed after some transistor swapping, I thought it was an ok fuzz but maybe not my jam. Mild to medium. Didn't box it for months but I recently picked up some of the other suggested transistors and a set of 2n3903 really brought it to life. It's still not great with my bass rig but my tele sounds fantastic through it.

The name is a Dr. Leo Spaceman quote.

Awe man, this was one of the first few pcbs I built and had the same experience. Especially for being a circuit with such a low parts count, it drove me nuts!! That was a while ago and I decided to put it away until I learned a bit more about building/deciphering circuits. This particular demo is what got me sooo excited. I loved how this sounded.

Now that I’ve got a few more pedals under my belt, as well as quite a stock of different transistors; I’m thinking it’s about time to revisit. Doesn’t seem to be too much about this one on the forums, unless I’m using the wrong keywords to search. I’ve found info on other forums, such as apparent hfe of the trannies on the original, matched those up and still didn’t sound right. Must be more to it than particular hfe. If anyone has any tips on this one, it’d be greatly appreciated!

Hope everyone is doing very well!

@Kroars I am planning the same, going through my stock of transistors and putting them into my Titania. Let me know which ones you end up liking, and I'll do the same! I plan on going down to really low values, to see if I can get some OD tones as well as fuzz.
Deal! Our resident guru (Mr. Chuck D. Bones) said he had good results with trannies as low as in the 60’s. I want to say Betty suggested the 2n2369’s (I believe), but as Chuck pointed out you won’t want to feed them with anything above 9v (I think they’re rated at 15v). It may be a little while until I get to them, but I will and let you know

I’m sure you’ve already found it, but just in case, here’s the link where Chuck discussed it:
