You could add a breadboard inside the pedal as socketsI just use jumper wires to a small breadboard from the PCB to quickly audition transistors…best of both worlds

Feral wasn't replying to you in particular, he was adding his opinion to the conversation. If you're not familiar with Feral, he can be a bit...bro, calm down, i’m not your dad, im not @bluedmc777 ‘s dad either, my opinions aren’t an instruction.
if you wanna use sockets, fill your boots, do what makes you happy
i initially opted to stfu because i knew i’d see reactive emotional posts like this, but @bluedmc777 asked, so deal with it.
my advice is simply based on my personal experience of what i’ve found to be worthwhile. and that’s not gonna be for everyone.
but if you’re taking my advice as a personal dig or some righteous claim then idk, that might just be a you problem

'Twas a general lament, my rant not specifically directed at you. If it had been, I would've quoted your post.
Actually, I agree with much of your post, I dig it/dug it, but did not take it as a personal dig.
I'm not trying to coerce anyone to use/avoid sockets —My post basically said: "to each their own".
I might be a socketeer, but there's no socket-tear here, no black-eye...
