Vactrols from ali express? These can’t be “good”

Anyone actually tried any of the vactrols on ali express. First thought is they have to be crap, has anyone tried?

I have a bag of them but haven't built anything with them. A week earlier and I would have sent you one. Let look legit. I'm guessing they're likely bad batches that aren't within spec but it may be a case where whoever was contracted to make them for xvive or whomever just kept making them.

lol yea Im thinking I’ll order some and a couple of the xvive ones from sbp. Now that electric druid has opened up shipping to the us again going to be messing with the taplfo3d chips for some tremolos. Do some comparing. Thx again for the germs doing a but of house keeping in my music room today but hoping to get them on a breadboard soon to nail down that project before I layout the pcb

Pretty sure I have a few legit xvives somewhere. Can do a breadboard comparison at some point. But they are so cheap, they're worth a shot I think.

I’ve bought LCR-0202 a few times there and they work fine.

Why take the risk w/ AliExpress?
If your completed pedal doesn't sound right, then you won't know if it's miswired or a bad vactrol...

As I said I will compare with the stompbox parts model. I plan on making several of this design so the 10$ difference will matter. Ive bought many mn3207’s on ebay that audibly have no difference from the cool audio or xvive ones. So I was just curious if anyone has experience with these.

Well, found my Ali C3s. But can't locate any legit ones. Maybe I used them?
Anyone want to measure resistance on a VTLTC3 with a 1k 10k 50k and 100k CLR and I'll compare?
Or I can check against the datasheet tomorrow night when I have access to both my flukes. It's too late for math.

Iv used them in Compulators - A/B against a genuine Xvive and can’t hear any audable difference. Socket a see, and don’t get hung on measurements.

Everywhere I read the Compulator has to have the vtl5c10. Iv tried it with different more commonly available vactrols and it works great.
