What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Same on mine that I hand drilled, but the Lumberg jacks fit, luckily

Oh, nice! Thanks for the idea! I’m off to order some Lumbergs.

Unfotunately, I will still have to order a new enclosure. If you look close at my picture you’ll notice that I mistakenly left the jack holes on the back at 0 on the x axis. They don’t clear the pots like that.

Annnnddd shes done! I only need to drill a hole on the side of the lid for the Vacuum feature but here she is! Im pretty dang excited to use it and see how it performs! Its not the prettiest but hopefully on the performance side is where this shines! I will certainly be cleaning it up! The bottom portion is made out of deconstructed wooden pallet. And the top i bought some lumber to save time on labor. All in all im pretty happy with how it came out!

I need to build me something like this! Great work!

This damnable thing, the Aion Xenotron...
just spent the last hour or so playing with and biasing it before realizing I'm getting absolutely no oscillation :ROFLMAO:

I am getting the tremolo and chorus/ vibrato tones which all sound damned nice, so I wasn't too focused on, and forgot about, the fact that it's flanger.
But, there ain't no flanger without oscillation, so I'm having to find what I fucked up, and having to cross reference two sides of the large board and the sub-assemblies has given me a headache

I really want you to like flangers, but this Xenowrong isn't helping.
Honestly, I'm loving it for the chorus and vibrato sounds already, but I definitely need to figure out why the Reaction bit isn't doing what it needs to

Once I get this one sorted, I do have an A/DA flanger clone board on hand (along with the Final Phase)

EDIT- and, I still have a Byzantium board I need to finish up. But having owned and built a couple other BF-2s that one's not a huge priority for me

Turns out the reaction pot was burnt out, got that swapped and it seems to be working as it should, and the flanger bits are kinda lackluster. Like, I feel like I should be able to get some tubular metallic grinding going on, but it doesn't quite get there. The pots all being so interactive certainly doesn't help 😅

There's more to flanging than just the metallic tubular sound, though I must admit, my favourite sound in my youth was taking my friend's Boss unit and turning everything down but the feedback up as high as possible verging on actual feedback of his guitar for that glorious hollow metallic ring... tried the same thing with his delays, too.

It was very tricky tweaking that feedback knob, 'cause just a hair and the guitar would shriek, not enough and no hollow metallic tubularness...

I need to build a flanger that has a fine adjustment on the feedback-knob!

DGWVI, may the flange be with you — always.

Those are awesome!

Are you talking about the classic “steel drum” flanger sound? (Prominently thought the song, such as 0:18-0:24)

So, I had spoken to soon. While I do get Oscillation, I am not getting any of the metallic sounds I've seen in any of the demos. Gonna have to open it back up 😅. This time, I'll be ensuring everything in the delay path is correct, as I'm getting all the vibrato and chorus sounds, but the delay time doesn't seem to get short enough to actually flange...

I've also been playing with the flangers on the HX Effects, and I really like the Dynamix Flanger, though I'm not sure what that's based on. The Harmonic Flanger (A/DA Flanger model) is pretty nice, too

I've been borrowing one of those. I get the hype but I like my electric ladyland more. I don't really mess with CV so I assume that's a selling point for some of you synthy folks. View attachment 50834

I've not played a real one, but I can definitely get down on the one modelled in the HX. I haven't really messed too much with CV stuff until these last couple of weeks, and even then that hasn't been much

My favorite on the HX is definitely the Dynamix Flanger...
But, that's apparently modelled After this
So, not sure I'll get to build one

decided to go all in on the killer ant ... gutted the pcb so I could install all the mojo parts. I forgot how janky these pcbs were. Using a lot of fresh solder and even more patience to depopulate the board. This is why I broke down and bought the better solder sucker.
